Finally able to post moar OpenTTD! Continued growth in Gössau made a micro line delivering scrap necessary, as truck just won't cut it anymore. Two lanes for a future addition even. Then the steel line got some more love. Did the needful deed and cut the lines at the tunnels to dig into their middle to be able to add signalling there, further reducing this bottleneck in bandwidth. Loading stations got some upgrades as well, some more singular interfaces, a priority exit lane from behind and 6 whole lanes after the tunnels, can't split them here as nicely. While at it the whole line is now 4 lanes too. But we are now delivering nearly all steel with some minor room for improvement and I see a new metalworks being build just nearby Gössau in an undeveloped direction... the good people of Gössau yearn for more lanes! Also look at Altstätten hitting 4k resident. It started out as a 200 souls village that I haven't even deemed necessary to connect to the main line while running by, now it's the worlds capital in plane crashes due to too much traffic into a too small airport! Just imagine how happy those 3.8k people are, now being able to live in this dreamy, far off alpine getaway.
I finished Fontaine and Natlan in Genshin Impact, so now I am almost finished. Also I got to level 50 so I can max level characters and weapons, so I am pretty much at the end game now.

FIRS5 came out of beta a few days ago and I saw that it even offers expanded industry sets. Whatever, let's start a new game with the Hot Land industry and sub-tropic setting using Finnish city names. Tweaked some more settings and made all towns into cities for more growth and larger initial sizes. 1024x512 sized map this time, as I at best filled out a quarter of the old map when it became more interesting and pressing to start upgrading old lines instead of laying new ones. Found a nice coastal town with lots of free space that shall act as starting point. Building materials quickly got set up via trucks making rather little money. But I want to use more trucks this time, as I only used 200 in the last one. They're probably better to spread end products more evenly in smaller portions to consumers regionally. Also to haul in resources from a larger area instead of snaking them off one by one by feeder rail lines. >>16200 That's probably the first time I see an actual interesting Halloween update that actually adds to the game. Most often they are just timed, immersion breaking reskins, bonus points when the devs don't even give an option to turn seasonal stuff off.
>>16244 >an actual interesting Halloween update that actually adds to the game. I said "yay" ironically. I hate it.
>>16245 Is it something obnoxious, like happen those scary detours much too often and are non-skippable?

My opportunity detector went off like it hardly ever does with the town of Koivula! There's a nice brewery here and some produce already nearby, just pump it into the city and then spread the bliss of alcohol and growth from there. Thinkgen of some crossing 2 seperate lines that later cojoin to cover more ground. Money generation with that early sole truck setup is rather lame though, despite them shipping a rather profitable chain. Going to hook up a nearby harbor with ships to increase output and a bonus on top. Then I started some kind of AI battle as I was watching something similar on YT in the background. Same settis as the other game, I plopped down some airports and slowly set up 15 planes. Really only the AAAHog could survive, probably due to FIRS5 and it being an overall great AI, pretty much the conclusion of the video as well. Some AIs only spammed the same road stations in the same cities and went bankrupt, slowly piling up more stations. A short lived fun and legit way to play a little more with planes :3 >>16250 Oh, I thought it would be some kind of "unexpected" detour that randomly starts to appear around that time on routes. Thought the challenge to maneuver here is the horror, yet kind of point of the game? Also then it's just a one off for some Halloween skin reward?

The best high capacity planes in this game just have such an unfortunate look, high-speed no-cap all the way. Found a Japanese city name pack and toyed around with some industry sets, but tbh the expanded basic sets of the new FIRS5 are mighty enough to hook up already. Started out in the humble town of Iruma, trucked in some plumes which then get feet pressed by the local virgin shrine maidens to be made into the most delicate wine of my more interesting Japan. Also the very first named junction! I kept on laying rail no matter how much I doubted my vibes and once I noticed the last missing interconnection, I saw that it can be beautifully swindled into already existing infrastructure with just a bridge each.

Finally! After restarting so much, every time nudging mods, changing settis and starting out differently, I think I have it, that one round of game I was searching. Very large, nicely generated 1024x1024 map with "just" 50 full fledged cities. The commies may rejoice, I took away the AIs ability to build roads, we have vibe planning engineers to centralize this decision in the name of an efficient and orderly workforce. "Minimal" regular starting industries with the used city script - Renewed Village Growth - layering another "low" layer of raw materials over the map after creation, giving a lot to transport to a few select places. Last map I played, I turned all industry off and had to fund them at at first horrendous rates to have them placed by myself, making transporting them rather arbitrary except for money earned which started to matter less very quickly. So this time I limit myself to only build shops in cities as they tend to take their time with building them on their own. Maybe I also place hotels to generate more passengers myself, but only if they fit nicely. Startup went pretty smooth. Two quick electrics to generate money. Convert everything to universal rail and bless this land with the first junction, which now fluently drops from the heavens upon these lands. LOL and Awww ^_^ at how smol Chiba is, we'll grow the shit out of it later. And a first long range rail to cover some ground and set up feeder lines, still have to find some factories anywhere.

BÄM BÄM BÄM 3 quick ones in succession! Had a butcher pop up in Kawasaki which will probably get served, the station is designed as kind of a terminus or rather sling-shot to a future material line leading west... left. Tottori is a regular pass-through into the western woods behind it. And last but not least the far off city of Sakai, maybe I'll give it a priority line back to start one day. Also after hearing the same few songs of the "old style" playlist in the game, it's catchy like the soundtrack to some lost Sonic game.

The good people of Sapporo were a little overwhelmed as money poured down the heavens, only to be turned into arable dirt to bless them with more buildable area. Next up a line to start from Tsu to the sister towns of Shizuoka and Fujisawa, they say their history implies heavy oyakodon, I imply girthy future GROWTH! Mostly because there's a nice liquid terminal and a few oil wells in the south, perfect to start off 2 side branches delivering to the terminal to finally get some industry hooked up. >>17282 It's wishlisted to be bought at a sale :3 >>17297 I heard it improved massively, especially during covid. Next iteration of a 4-way crossing. Now 95% less explicit! It's always that shitty left turn the forms "it"... The whole region is getting some development now, slowly creeping from city to city. But still just about 15 or so cities of 50 connected, hence why I put a hard limit on them giving everything some grander scale and less tedium. >>17625 Very great series overall, we played the shit out of all of them on the PC of SmolBernds best school buddies dad.

Plopped down an airport in every city and hooked up a ton of roads and intercity connections. There's a a regional line for every city and most are connected by a long range mail and bus lines as well. Some more industry within the bountiful woods behind Tottori getting conquered by steel and fire, diamonds to Sakai and some initial close lumber for the mill there, a shit ton of trains will probably deliver logs here in the future. Ironically all those millions spend spurred simply so much and juicily thick GROWTH, that all cities upgrading simultaneously collapsed populations which cut sharply into profits that I had to cheat in 500 more million to let it slooowly grind in on its own. If you would please consult the chart, it's nicely visible how operating profits slowly trend upwards again as cities expand and provide more passengers for all those new lines. The first bump upwards was when I shortly unpaused after the first 100 million Baht or 2 million in standard currency got spend on infrastructure. Double the amount was poured onto those good souls of Neo-Japan afterwards within the blink of an eye, turning them probably crazy and into a short scene of sexual barbarity from euphoria. Stuff for national holidays really. Anyway, this *ähem* one time emergency financial measure has proven its value and effect as the company state continues to provide GROWTH and profits!

Well, it's surely a take on uninterrupted maintenance for both lanes. Had to because a lot of ground was covered, arriving next in Nishinomiya, Saga and finally Suita, which mostly ends this region in a giant multi-lane bridge. >>18047 There's so much great untapped content out there with Gothic mods alone, should finally give Archolos another try.

>>18056 Current version should be stable unlike release one. Some members of old team are working on 2.0 update, which will add much more stuff and fully develop mage gameplay. However when it gets released is big unknown, team just says >it's released when it's done, cya Mod has funny backstory, whole project stems from Chronicles of Khorinis, prequel mod to Gothic 1, which was supposed to show events shortly before creation of magical barrier. One guy, Dark, hopped onto modding team, did takeover and wanted to turn medium-sized mod into huge one. Many people disliked his policies, he forced modders to sign contracts with their personal data, arranged professional dubbing through his family connections (which he later used to blackmail whole project and boot people out) and overall did horrible at management - he told people what he wants to have in HIS mod, disappeared for few months, came back and tried to rearrange things again, repeated numerous times. Experienced modders left his team and started Archolos, which incorporated many parts of original mod. What was funny, Chronicles of Khorinis had huge hype campaign ran since 2016 which turned into nothingburger, while Archolos stayed in shadow and surprised everyone with sudden release. Original mod died was cancelled 2 years later since it got horrible backlash from fanbase.

A new eastern district around Yokohama and Kagoshima and of course baka Osaka and Kawagoe, named after their Kawai-Ahegao-Queen that rules and runs the greatest brothel. The first ring connection was established as well. Looking at the map I'd say we're about 50% through, the city index shows that we already enshadow... I mean encroach.. blessed far over half the population of Neo-Japan which just hit over 50k in total.

2 years have passed since I've played ROSIGMA. It received some updates (Armageddon Steel Legion and Heretic Warband) so I guess I'll check it out again later on. Any Bernds played it? It's submod for 40K mod for OpenXCOM. Pretty hard, but once you get some of mechanics and tactics it's fun. It offers huge varety of factions and enemies. >Astra Militarum >Space Marines >Sisters of Battle >Planetary Administration >Inquisition And all those offer subfactions which can significantly change gameplay, like going for Tempestus Scion instead of vanilla IG - you get much better soldiers, but they are really hard to replenish. However real horror is managing whole clusterfuck on multiple bases, equipment, soldiers, recruit training and rapid replacement, all on ancient UI of XCOM, especially when you are playing as Imperial Guard and frequently lose plenty of soldiers :(

Finally found a somewhat close use of all the lumber that is already made in Tottori, it's exported via the new Hiromae harbor in exchange for goods, which get spread out in the region by truck. The more we expand in the east, the more we want juicy long range targets filled to the brim with spending passengers and sacks bursting full of mail in the west after all. 2 new districts with Naha/Niigata and Matsudo/Kushiro als got added, slowly but surely the process of adding new towns is getting a slog, but there ain't too many left to go! Regular settis probably would have about 200-500 cities and villages spread out instead of Bernds measly 50... >>18335 That lewd space piratesses mod XPiratez or whatever is eye-fucking me all over for some time now. And another region doneth. Starting at the rather unremarkable town of Gotenba, which only features an in-construction 4-way junction, the lanes head straight to Neyagawa. Due to indefinite road closures, the Neyagawa boys are pros on Mount Akina and often challenged by the neighboring highspeed Flachlandindianer of Mount Akagi, based at the city of Toyohashi. Always a joy to be adding some more trains and the self-allowed provision of 1 jet per additional city. Also an initial shitload of busses and trucks! Civilization has yet to press on to be able to bring GROWTH!

I really thought I could make this junction happen, but somehow the mind went into a dead end, unable to return. Even took a screenshot, sure that I'm able to pull it off after I tore it down and before rebuilding it. But this is all history at peace now as nature slowly creeps back into the unclaimed lands below this 3-way junction. And fully in the theme of Halloween to scare Americans, we welcome the good people of the next quite remarkable district, situated at the grand beauty that is the triple multi-lane roundabout of Alpha-XXX. I think I'll have to demolish a set of bridges each ring, maybe even the whole pointless inner ring to make it more resistant against deadlocks, but the urge to overengineer was there and it will be a lot of increase in traffic before it gets an issue.
I tried a game called Master of Command, it wasn't very good. A new DLC for Crusader kings 3 released that adds China and Japan so I will try that. I have not played for a very long time but apparently there is an immortal trait in the custom ruler designer so I will make a character with that.
>>18953 >I tried a game called Master of Command, it wasn't very good. Saw a few minutes of a dev stream. The artstyle, procedural generation of battlefields, ahistorical setup of armies and CK3-tier random events already deterred me. Also, on /vst/ there's a sperg who will have a melty anytime someone criticizes the game.
