Let's say you stop eating meat and instead consume only whey protein isolate or concentrate. You may eat meat somewhat once a week or something. What are the health consequences of that? I guess the person will be missing the iron from meat and that is it?
You mean, become a vegetarian?
>You may eat meat somewhat once a week or something. This was pretty much the norm for most Europeans for a long time and they survived somehow. Eating meat daily is a modern thing.
>>16469 Why are you vegan?
Probably Vitamin B12 deficiency if you don't take care about eating other foods high in Vitamin B12.
>>16469 No, eating eggs and cheese without any issue, even like I said eating meat once a week, but having the main protein consumption coming from whey protein. >>16471 Why would someone handicap himself or herself to have a medieval peasant diet?
>>16517 >having the main protein consumption coming from whey protein. Even stuff like bread has enough protein for everyday life. Unless you're a bodybuilder, you won't even need whey. Calculate how many calories you need. For me, it's ~2300-2600, depending on the nuances in answering. Now, take 0.8g/kg protein intake per day and you're a little over 60g for me. Looking at the nutrition of the last bread I bought, it has 39 mg protein per kcal. Or, if I ate 2300 kcal of it, that'd give me 90g of protein.
>>16468 2 things will happen 1. short term, you will nonstop fart and feel bloated, instant protein is a supplement, not a food, not good for your gut if its makes up too much of your diet. 2. you will get a soyjaw
I eat the same porridge of oats, ground almond and hazelnuts, raisins, salt, cinnamon, milk and generous scoop or 2 of whey 4 days a week at wörk without anything else the day. Can't complain and often times I shit 2 times a day.
>>16469 I've been vegetarian for almost 30 years now, zero problems, my non-veg peers are fat and unhealthy.
>>18020 I tried that for a year. Didn't lose any weight. Whatever I lost from meat was just replaced with bread and dairy. The appreciation for vegetables is the benefit though. They really are the best things you can eat, along with beans. You will look healthier and feel healthier.
>>18023 I never did it to lose weight back then (I was underweight). Meat just lost its appeal to the point where I didn't enjoy taste and texture and how you can sometimes see veins and fat and sinews. I think cooking with meat would be also more expensive, no? Especially when you buy organic meat from the butcher, since I mostly eat organic produce (at least one good thing in Germany, you can get that everywhere and rather cheap).
What is whey? Protein from wheat?
