What languages is Bernd learning? Talk in them or about them here. I'm focusing on Japanese (B2-B1) and Spanish (B2) now. My method so far is to work through a textbook or short online course for grammar and basic vocabulary, use a pre-made Anki deck for the 5-6k words you need to understand native material without too much effort, then start reading and watching native material. For Japanese practice I recommend the Oishinbo anime. Pleasant viewing, and they use regular everyday Japanese so you won't end up talking like a JoJo character.
>Oishinbo Unfathomably based, you got good taste. Sadly I don’t learn any languages (besides Latin, which I haven’t looked into for months), so can’t contribute to the thread.

How many Kanji do you know? And I mean draw from scratch, not just remember from 'remeber the Kanji' tier books?
I also ordered the original soundtrack CD of Oishinbo from the late 1980s from Japan, because on streaming services only the remaster was available.
>>18975 I can (slowly) read a book in Japanese without a dictionary, but I can only write a few hundred from memory.
