What's the best area of Germany to live in? All my life I have lived in and around Berlin, but I'd like to move somewhere more quiet, nothing keeps me here. What are some good regions in Germany to move to?
Depends on your personal preferences. If you like rural area go to Ostfriesland. If you like suburban area look for something in Schwaben. From the big cities Bernd liked Munic the most. But cities have always the problem that there always are poor/ghetto districts.
Spoiler: There are no good areas in Germany. You better go to Switzerland.
>>2205 >Ostfriesland Don't they speak Platt? I don't think I would understand this. I think what would be perfect would be a small city that has everything, good infrastructure et al., but still wouldn't be overcrowded. >>2207 >You better go to Switzerland. I didn't understand shit when I traveled there and I don't want to leave my homeland tbh.
>>2210 What about Freiburg. It has 200k and has good infrastructure but yet the charm of a small city.
>>2212 Maybe I'll visit Freiburg, when I'm in Stuttgart later this year and have a look...
>>2207 Done that, still am there. It's nice but not insanely better. Ask me anything I guess? >>2210 >Don't they speak Platt? The people from there I know don't speak or understand it, so you'll probably be fine. My recommendation: Travel around if you can. You can probably get a good feeling for the overcrowdedness and infrastructure in a weekend.
>What's the best area of Germany to live <in? The crust
>>2204 Kek, I'm moving to NRW soon, for work reasons. Leavin Börlin after almost two decades, I'm fed up with low wages and unaffordable rents here. Gonna get paid double and pay less for my apartment.
>>2235 Hopefully not Duisburg or Dortmund. That two cities are even worse than Berlin. t. Lived many years in Duisburg and has family in Dortmund.
>>2237 Nope, seen them both, Duisburg is the definition of a shithole, Dortmund is okay I guess. Mülheim an der Ruhr is my choice
>>2239 >Mülheim an der Ruhr is my choice Isn't that the worst shithole in NRW? I only heard bad things about it. Anyway I would never move to NRW, literally every other part sounds better.
>>2241 It depends on the neighbourhood. East of the Ruhr it's a bit ghetto, west of it is where the wealthy people live. Tbh I was positively impressed, streets and houses looked clean, freshly painted, some people even greeted me, which is unthinkable in Berlin.
>>2242 >which is unthinkable in Berlin True, when I was on holiday in Saxony in spring, it was a complete culture shock that people greeted me heh
>>2244 >>2242 I greet people when I meet them in the appartment floor or when I sit next to someone on a bench. t. third Berlinbernd
>>2307 In my commie block most people greet, but there also quite some who don’t. I think it’s especially rude but whatever. Also why are there so many Berlin Bernds here?
