If you only drink a small amount of alcohol, it's an acceptable way of life. If you drink a lot or smoke, you are not min-maxing your substance use correctly.

I've bought a tenner of speed at a party last weekend and I'm pretty sure there was meth in it. Couldn't sleep for 14 fucking hours after the last line and felt like an absolute zombie the next day.

Same. Haven't even smoked a cigarette in my entire life. Stopped drinking alc 13 years ago as well. Drugs are such a stupid concept to me, my life is way too interesting and my health way too important to introduce drugs to it. I see anyone who takes drugs as weak willed (most cig smokers started because of group pressure lol) and uncreative (need mind altering substances to have fun).

Everyone I know who takes drugs and every study I can find about it shows that drug consumption results in a net negative of quality of life due to addiction and health issues and wasting money on it. Some pleasures in life just come with too many risks and downsides attached and drugs are by far the most glaring one. And if you extrapolate from that that I somehow am "anti fun" or "anti pleasure" ONLY because I reject drugs... then that shows that drugs are the epitome of pleasure for you which is again a You problem. Do you have a lot of unprotected sex with strangers? Do you deny yourself that pleasure despite all the STDs you can catch? Or is that too boring for you as well? lol.
